Isn't she adorable. I just love her little smile. I've been wanting to take her picture for a while now and this past Sunday she was blessed. This dress that she is wearing, was worn by her mother on her blessing day and her 5 other sisters. Her grandmother embroidered all of their names and blessing dates in white all along the bottom of the dress. So special.....

Three Shoots in One Day = 15 Children = Exhausted

Cousins!

My first shoot on Saturday morning began with a bunch of cousins. These fun kids come from three different families. I just did a photo shoot of the three boys a few months ago, so after the group picture they cashed in their time for some lollipops and they were happy to be done.

These two cuties are sisters and they were by far the easy ones in group:)

What a beauty...

This fun little girl was constantly on the go. I just followed her everywhere she went. She was so funny...she hardly gave me the time of day. At only 18 months, we couldn't communicate with words, but she would give me a glance here and there. She was very interested in everything...but me:)

We captured three generations here....

...and four generations there.

Seeing Double?

My second shoot took place immediately after. This one included 9 year old identical twins and two princesses.

I've known these boys since they were toddlers. They are growing up to be heart breakers!!

We went on our "princess walk" and found many flowers to smell. She was soooo photogenic. I wish I could post all of her amazing shots.

I had great odds at picking the correct name when speaking to the boys, but I think I was wrong every time. I used to be able to tell them a part, but it has been a few years since I have seen them. I'm thankful they just laughed each time I messed up.

I love it when I take pictures of siblings and the kids are arguing over who gets to hold the baby. It makes me happy to see such love.

Look at these 5 cuties!!

My third shoot was later that afternoon. I love kids. They are so much fun to tease, play pretend with, and have fun with. I LOVE working with them, especially one on one. I enjoy pulling each one aside and "going for a walk" as we take pictures. I get to know them and enjoy hearing about the things they like and dislike. There is never a dull moment when working with adorable little people:)

This little man loved looking at the twinklies in his eyes (the light in his eyes) after I took each picture. He had a great time trying to find those twinklies and he would follow me anywhere in order to capture them.

Yummy!! Isn't she yummy? During the group shot she was busting up laughing. If only I could have gotten some of that out of her when it was just us two. I think she was still checking me out here. By the time we took the group shot, she must have realized I was okay to be with:)

These two boys are handsome young boys. The one above is more subdued and serious, while the one below showed me all sorts of faces to photograph. He was so silly. That little smirk tells it all.

This "twinklies" boy was on the move. We had to send his brothers out to keep up with him.

Triplets

This month these three adorable triplets turn eight years old. I couldn't wait for their shoot. I was so excited to work with all three of them. I cherish sweet moments like these.

Meet My Best Friend, Mary

I have known this wonderful family for about 6 years. Mary is the most wonderful friend anyone could ask for. My most favorite thing to do is laugh and Mary knows how to make that happen. The best part is that both of us can act like dorks around one another and we think it's so funny. It may not be funny to anyone else, but we don't care. She is kind, thoughtful, helpful, and has a wonderful listening ear. I hope everyone has a friend like her, because my life is so much brighter with her around.

My favorite part about taking these pictures was watching her husband drool over them as he saw them for the first time. Isn't she just beautiful?

Mrs. Telford and Family

Mrs. Telford was my daughters 4th grade teacher last year and this year she is the Dean of Students. A couple of months ago she added a beautiful baby boy to her family. He was so cute in his little plaid shirt and her husband has an awesome British accent that is fun to listen to. Thanks for letting me be apart of making memories.

These kids were so much fun. The little girls were a riot. They had me running from place to place as they yelled out "take a picture of me." They were literally climbing in the bushes and then asking to have their picture taken. I loved it. They reminded me SO much of my little girls. I have known my good friend since I was a little girl. My family would come from CA to AZ to visit with her and her family. We went to dances together when we were teenagers, I attended her high school with her for a week when I flew out to visit during my spring break. We have a lot of memories and now we are all grown up, with families of our own. She just recently moved back to AZ and I was so excited when she asked me to take her family's picture. They are a very beautiful family.

Meet the Schvaneveldt Family. Their newest addition is the little guy in the front with the orange shirt. He was just adopted recently form Guatemala. He was so happy. All I had to do is play peek-a-boo behind my camera and he'd bust up laughing.

The Taylor Family

The Taylor family is one of my favorite families to shoot, that is if I'm allowed to choose. They are always so lively and act like their true selves even when a camera is in front of their face. This is my fifth year shooting them and they were a little more mellow. Typically I have the boys wrestling, mom threatening, and dad just smiling:) This year they acted more grown up. They also have a foreign exchange student living with them this year. She is on the front row to the left.

The Venue of Scottsdale

Last night I attended a meeting for The Wedding and Event Network. Curtis Whipple signed me up as the feature photographer for the evening. I was also asked to take some snap shots through the evening to document the event. My name and work will be displayed on their website for a month. The meeting was held at The Venue of Scottsdale which looks like a simple building on the outside, but oh my. Walk in and you will be amazed.

I was able to display some of my work and lay out my business cards.

The inside of the building was a recreation of Bourbon Street. You can rent a room of the building for parties or events, or rent the whole thing for a concert with 1300 guests. This place is huge and beautiful.

One of the rooms on "Bourbon Street" was a beautiful pool room and bar.

You can look out the window onto "Bourbon Street" and see the guests across the street at a bar.

Here is a picture that only shows a portion of the inside. It is two story and very unique. The bar is on the right and the pool room and bar is behind me on the left.

My Kiddos

This weekend I decided to take my kids out for a photo shoot. Why is it easier to take pictures of kids other than my own?:) It's probably because my kids are tired of me constantly pointing a camera at them:) I just can't help it. Here are a few of my favorites after I bribed them all with cold stone ice cream.

I love how they look like the bars on your cell phone:) Maybe they'll be on the next commercial.

Have you ever heard of a kid who is too scared to cough? Well, here's a picture of one. She came down with a cough this week and she has a lot of "yucky stuff" in her chest that she needs to cough up. She is afraid that the "stuff" is going to choke her or make her throw up. Therefore she purposefully tries not to cough. My husband and I have talked until we are blue in the face trying to convince her that none of those horrible things will happen, but she is very fearful. I hope we don't end up in ER because she refuses to cough and clear her chest. In the picture above she is starting to tell me about her cough.

The reality of her cough is beginning to hit her.

Now she is down right depressed that she has this cough that is sooooo scary. Please Help!!

The Frandsen Family

The Frandsen's had their college daughter home for the Labor Day Holiday weekend. They decided it was a perfect time for a family photo. We took the pictures at their home and that worked out perfect. I was able to work with the kids one at a time while everyone else sat in the cool house waiting their turn. We all made it through the heat and mosquito's:) They are a great family and I had a blast working with each one of the kids and learning more about them.

I just giggle every time I look at this. He is so adorable.

Harrison

Today I got to know Harrison. He's two years old, loves Buzz Lightyear, Teddy Bears, and Spiderman; especially his Spiderman blanket. I had blast playing with him for an hour this morning. We played hide-n-seek, peek-a-boo, looked at books, etc... He was my little buddy. I don't even think he realized I was there to take his picture. I just love kids. It makes photography so much more fun.

I went to my friend Leslie's house to talk about cameras. She has an adorable little girl named Kate who is just over a year. She is very playful and easy to photograph. She's first eating bean burritos in her high chair and then we went to play on her brown leather couch. Here are a couple of my favorites.

I love playing with the light inside the house. I can easily capture kids playful nature and smiles because they are comfortable in their own home.

My best friend, Mary, had a 3.8 lb baby in March. He had stopped growing in the womb and therefore they induced her three weeks early. Doctors figure they can help the baby more if it is out of the womb. Owen was born without any problems and they still don't know why he had stopped growing.

Owen at 4.5 lbs at 15 days old.

It was hard to believe that a something so small could be so alive.

His fingers and toes were the tiniest I had ever seen.

Now he's 12 lbs and healthy as ever.

I love to hold him and kiss his little cheeks.

Swimming at Grandma's

My Grandma has lived in the same house since the 1960's. My grandparents helped build it. This summer some of my extended family met together to enjoy each others company once more. Now many of my 21 cousins have kids of their own. If we tried to have a full family reunion there would be over 100 of us. Unbelievable! It's amazing what can happen when two people fall in love.

We visited Grandma and Grandpa in CA this summer. We loved going on a hike in the Glendora Mountains with them in the morning and ending our walk at a stream.

Jayden loved carrying his water bottle on a string around his neck.

Kipp is my very silly 8 year old nephew. I could hardly take a candid shot of him with the family without his very crazy facial expressions. I was a little worried about trying to accomplish this photo session, so I tried to pick something that he really loves. He wants to be a cowboy when he grows up so I asked him to go and put on his cool cowboy clothes and we would take some manly pictures of him. He was quick to respond and I pretty much let him do what ever he wanted. This is what I captured.

This weekend was an absolutely inspiring weekend. On Saturday my sister-in-law Nichole and I spent the whole day at Sarah Goodman's Photography workshop. I had a blast and learned so much. I'm so excited to work on the things that I learned and look outside of the little box that I had been in. Here are a few of the 600 :) shots that I took that day.
